in 1912, mayor yukio ozaki of tokyo gave the city of washington d.c. three thousand cherry trees. almost a century later, we continue to celebrate the cherry blossom festival in d.c. every spring, during the two weeks of peak blossoming.
the title of the pack is a reference to the d.c. metrorail. if you're visiting for the festival, parking is a real bitch, so it's best to take the metro from the outlying suburbs into the city. i'd take the orange line from vienna.
