the arrangement is ok, but the render itself needs sooo much more work, esp the lightning

Looks like an OpenGL preview. It needs at least some phong shading and some detail in the background to give a sense of scale.

ya looks like the walkers in the last level of hl2 - 8bit colors against the 32bit texture on the floor are distracting - a good start
