Artist's Note

A bit of a departure from my last submission, here is a character I've created in 3ds max 5, the image is available in the following resolutions 1600*1200/1024*768/800*600. Enjoy.

work on materials, specularity, caustics maybe, stuff like that and you'll have an interesting render to build off of. It's quite cartoony, but I'm sure some will enjoy it.

a subpar render, and a double boogie wall.

Well I did a few different renders before submission. One as a toon cel shaded render another with global ilumination having applied a metalic material to the character , but I chose this as I thought it would be better to let the geometry of the character speak for itself and would be less distracting as a wallpaper, seen as you guys dont seem to be liking this I might delete this and resubmit a rerendered scene

it's not that bad, the model just isn't too appealing to me...it looks kind of slapped together. Like the legs though.

I think the character is pretty cool... I've seen silly'er crap elsewhere before. I think what is hurting in this piece is the clash between foreground (character) and background. They are competing for the focus (artistically speaking). The background needs to be less "busy" so the character is the main focus of the viewer. Sorry about being too "wordy".
