a poem desktop - the hand is very dead, but it seems that you didn't spend enough time on the fingernails. The rest of the hand looks like you have a white layer over it and cut out the nails or just the opposite. The text doesn't look written on the paper, just layered on top. Try to blend it in a bit.

looks like you just took a tree texture and overlayed it on the hand, hence the 'white' apperance and bad job on the nails.

Decent work! though I would not use it as a desktop it shows creativity and deep imagination.. and I dont know why everyone else is carying on about the fingernails, because it looks like he has on burnt gloves and if its gloves thats why there are no damn fingernails.. its freddy krueger damnit!!! he just took off his blades and left the gloves on.

to me it looks like you selected a shape of a hand and put that burnt texture on the hand, and shadowed it for some light sourceand the basic shading, but it doesn't look shaded like an actual hand. where are the tendin, vein, and bone outlines? add those in and it could look better. and follow other people's suggestions.
