Artist's Note

I've been fooling with this for quite some time now, upwards of two weeks. I can't think of anyplace new to take it, so... time to see what everyone else thinks. ;)

Stock photography + photomanipulation and some pretty extensive retouching in some places.

Inspired by my backyard.

I think it's a fantastic photowall. My only gripe would be some compression in the landscape, but that flower just pops right out so nicely i don't even care.

colossus, a very legitimate gripe, but it was considerably worse before I got ahold of it. Shy of booking a flight to Scotland myself, the best I could do. :\ Fortunately, it's not noticable at resolutions below 1600.

I've always thought this to be the best wallpaper I ever did. I really loved the contrast between the grunge and organic elements, and I love the way the flower leaps off the monitor. I made the mistake of submitting this one in 1600x1200... ironically enough, trying to be considerate by releasing the larger version kind of hurt me on this one ratings-wise, as the full-size version looked a little rough in spots. The 1280 version didn't have that problem, and probably would have scored better.

Ah, to be a whore for 90.00+ rankings.
