knowing how to use a program doesn't mean everything you do with it is good. And you don't need to use the most popular program to do something good, you just need to use your head. I could have done that without even using a computer btw.

Simplicity is good sometimes and you almost win in that area. The nodes are way too noticable, you should remove a few and stretch them into curves. Darken the shadows a tad.
