Image info ---------- Now this is where I get really serious about trying out that 3D futuristic/cubistic style. This was a real fun experiment, it took a while to do but I enjoyed it. Maybe I should find a name for this style, err... how about crashcubism? Anyway, for a while I kept this one as a black and white image, which gave it a pretty aggressive atmosphere and I didn't really like that so I gave it more of a warm sunset atmosphere.
Serie info ---------- Originally Pretty Picture Generator was going to be just an exploration of some sort of 3D futuristic/cubistic style I had in mind. As always, some form of concept started to grow around the images and if you pay attention to details and think about them a bit you might see references to the evolution of art and technology and the relations between them. Still, I tried to put a bit more focus on the esthetic aspect of the serie than the concept.
wicked work. totally. i love the tone of it, the complication and the general idea. and fuji finepix 2600 is a wicked camera too :) the only complaint i got is about all the lines stratching over the picture. it disturbs, just like looking in a shattered mirror. it kinda breaks it up. anyway, im really looking forward to more from the pretty picture generator :)
I like this one a lot...especially the warm copper/rust coloring. What did you use to make it? When I initially glanced at it I thought I was looking into a chasm...when I saw the larger view I noticed the more apparent structures. The large view is quite large but great for looking at the detail.
I used my camera (finepix 2600) and Photoshop, I took samples of a few of my kaleidoscopic Bryce renders to use as textures
