Artist's Note

If you have not yet seen the work of the outstanding artist Hajime Sorayama then you must go have a look...here I made sure his signature remained in the lower right corner...I hope some day I can paint like him...

it doesnt look too bad, but its pointless. you might have centred it more on the mermaid, but the galaxy thingy on the left just puts it all out of context, giving the whole pic a pretty alarming limp bizkit factor

forgot to put in that Sorayama's work is the awesome mermaid...the rest is mine

i gave you a 50 for being able to appreciate good artwork and talent. in the future though when creating compositions you might concentrate more on building around the concept of your subject. ex. in this piece you could have used more blues and yellows / oranges to simulate the colors of an island / ocean sunset, maybe have some graphic elements maybe somewhat minimalistic in their presentation so as not to detract from the beautiful painting which you are attempting to accent.

all i can find of Hajime Sorayama's work is the robot pictures. where did you find that picture and are there more like it?
