i think you're really onto something. a bit more of a horizontal feel, make the color chunk larger and you will have some urban looking goodness on your hands

Great. Could make a good theme --> Must agree with wynton (cussing, swearing etc.) just lowers the wallpaper IMO, there really is no need...meh
