Artist's Note
I know I have not been around for nearly three months, so allow me to make a comeback by posting what I have done so far with my reimaging of the Gaia Visual Style.
After seeing ECNMY and getting a better understanding of how the Mac OS X GUIKit version of Gaia works, I decided to redesign some previously finalised elements. As per qslig's suggestion, the caption bars have been redesigned and downsized, along with the caption buttons. I decided to model the clickable elements (buttons, checkboxes, toolbar buttons, etc.) after those in the Mac OS X version, but keeping some of their original flavour in the original Windows visual style. I also put a restrain on the use of colours, flavouring now mostly greys, blacks, and blues.
Other redesigns and progress I have made (not all shown): - The Start menu's mouseover highlight (StartGroupToolbarButton) has been reimaged. - User panel in Start Menu slightly redesigned - Scroll thumbs slightly redesigned - Groupbox and tab pane given slight design improvements - Start menu's All Programs menu's background reimaged
I have also decided on a name for my reimaging of the Gaia visual style: GAIA PHNIX (from the word Phoenix).
I'm not sure when I can release this, as I want to take things a bit slowly here. While I'm aiming for end of November, I do not want to be seen as breaking promises. Before that, I may release one or two betas for public testing before I finalise everything. And no, I won't let this turn into a case of Duke Nuken Forever :P .
p.s. That thing on the bottom is a Samurize config, and the wallpaper is a mod of one of 4Impressions' works. p.p.s. If you wonder why I have not been around, blame Pokémon Diamond :P .
