A dedication to my all time favourite screensaver creator Amana.
I found some time to look into customizing OS X and found some interesting programs.
GeekTools: A transcription of Samurize for OSX. The little start menu and the clock are created with it. You can just write small action scripts and that program will show them on your desktop.
FileBrowser: Is an alternative to the regular Finder. It´s easy to use and well throughthought. As for me i think better than the original.
Menufela: Hides or blocks the Dock and regular Menubar. An important application for me to make this desktop look more like my usual environment.
Yahoo! Widget Engine: I did two widgets for the GAIA suite already. This engine is really powerful and has the ability to emulate LiteStep on OS X. We already started a project but sadly the coder went away for a year. If someone is interested in contributing just leave me a message.
ShadowKiller: Disables the usual shadows for your windows. With this program you can improve your systems speed quite a lot. If you have a not so new Mac.
At last i added some self made icons, a wallpaper and edited the gaia message style for Adium.
Glad to finally see you post a screenshot again my friend!
The wonderful nature wall with that hot bottom bar makes this a real beauty! If this was a Windows screenshot i'd say you have to show me more, but this being an OSx setup i say less IS more.
You had me fooled there with that Finder alternative, i thought it was part of the website, searched me a mouse-hand. That is looking great though!
Thanks again for the great website and photo links!
Thank you very much everybody. One thing about the GuiKit. In the beginning of customizing XP i always wanted to have a milky os x like look for my PC. After some time and some setups i found out that this black bar is my favourite thing to work with. You´ve to see that i am not the one who produces Visual Styles. I just do the mockups and get ideas. So i want to concentrate on the content. And this is just perfect. I think it´s more time intensive to customize a mac to the level of an XP setup. You need knowledge in scripting and experience with this immensive big program ThemePark. If you open that one and compare it to Stylebuilder you´ll see what i mean. All in all there´s a lot more to experience. Maybe we´ll see a litestep port on a Mac in some days ;)
You can get it here excess http://www.sxc.hu/browse.phtml?f=view&id
