Artist's Note
Simple gnome theme that i created. Wallpaper entitled "Milos Island, Greece" from interfacelift. I don't have all these crazy stupid apps that I don't really need. I have a clock and my system works like it should. So that's why i don't have obligatory gauges and other silly shit that just add clutter and make me look "sophisticated"
I was inspired by some of the colors from a major tom winamp skin from back in the day.
This is also on a ubuntu gusty beta system :)

do you really enjoy having to squint at your text to see what it is just so you can have that transparency

you are a transparency whore. :P I love how when someone disagrees with your style or doesn't like your setup, you go on long rants about how awethum you are at linux and how OS modification is "true" customization. also, shit and piss everywhere. (i loved it just cause :P)

We all know that we pose our desktops in a way to show off the features in our s-shots. If you look at my old screenshot here http://customize.org/screenshots/17957 (from 5 years ago) you can see where that framebuffer was WAYYYYY ahead of it's time. I had to go through all kinds of hell, compiling DirectFB from a cvs repository. just to "experience" the pre-stages of transparency for linux. This was before anti-aliased text was a "common thing" for linux. These days we just plob in a ubuntu cd and enjoy all the features by pointing and clicking. I made the objects transparent just because it was super easy and I could. And well, it's good to see progress.
The only thing I ocassionaly use transparency for is a terminal.
