Artist's Note
So, this one has a bit of a story. Screenshot after screenshot recently have been the using black/white minimalism style. It's a really good style; I've been using it almost exclusively for a long time now. This screenshot is calling back to what my desktop looked like back before then.
First thing first, moshi is the man. Always has been, always will be. Here I'm using two parts of his Garam Marsala suite. Made some changes, but just for personal preference. Behold OTS1 in all its glory.
As for the wallpaper, it's from Stephane Belin's "Leaving the Fifties" render, which also has never ceased to amaze me.
Icons are a personal port from gerritv's VOID_appEXT
And there you have it. Large topbar, large brightly colored VS, gloss, a letterboxed wallpaper. I don't know about you, but I like it.

you've always had fantastic taste in wallpapers, this is no different, and it's nice to see you pushing things in a different direction (or going back to your roots, at the least). i'm not sure how long i could handle the bulkiness of it, but otherwise i'm definitely digging it.

Yes, the wallpaper is nice. It is a work well known in the CG community. I believe it is a digital painting, either with photoshop or painter. I almost never notice the background, and the genius of this work is that everytime I see it the meaning of the painting is very effective.
As for the orange VS, I'm not sure if it is as attactive as it could be. Too much orange, perhaps.

I like the wall and the colour scheme - I'm all for moving away from the constant cycle of black/white shots doing the rounds at the moment. My only reservations are with the VS itself - too big and ungainly for my tastes. It'd look ace if you slimmed it down a little.

The 64 score was something I was kinda expecting, but I really appreciate the comments you guys made. It makes me feel a lot better about my customizing "childhood". About the bulky comments, I agree completely, it's almost bulky enough to hurt usability. However I don't blame the skins or the style, I think it has a lot to do with the small resolution. This on my old 1440 x 900 laptop = love. Also, I'd love to see somebody make something really beautiful out of this wallpaper, it really does deserve it
