Artist's Note
Yeah, I'm brown, or beige, or whatever color it is again, but no Asian girls :)
Anyway, I've sat on this wall for a long time. All I know about it is it's title, which is "Refusal" but don't know the author. New Resource monitor, Calculator, and Volume Control mods in view, all of these being the original, default, Windows 98 versions that came with the OS, and yes, I actually find myself using them quite often, so it was time to mod. These 3 were just pure fun though, and very easy to do. I also threw my shut down box in the mix this time. I finally got around to fixing that one up a bit, nowhere near finished, but it's in the beginning stages at least. The rest is the usual, but it's what I have modded at all times. This color scheme is just SO easy on the eyes, and everything is so easy to see, that I just had to go back to it again. Hope you like it :)

Definite eye-strain candidate. Congrats on the level of customisation, but like so many of these screenshots I'm left asking myself how useable it is and whether the people submitting them use their PC's purely to customise the desktop and for nothing else. Not a personal dig, just kind of thinking out loud.

I like it, but where do you find the time to figure all this crap out?! I really like your 3dcc scheme. it looks very smooth. When I actually have time to dedicate myself, I'll have to get myself down and dirty with some .dll's :P

Awesome screenshot! I have a question though. Where can I get Displayset from? PC magazine requires you to pay for it now... since they changed their system and after searching on Google I could not find anything. WinT, could you pls send it to me or post it somewhere? Thanks.

Displayset is sort-of mirrored on WinT's site. now the question is, where can we find PKTray?

i think when it comes to custo itself nobody, really nobody can own you. Who will ever make this out of the oooold windows98? YOU. Just you. The meters and the control bars. OOH. And the ice-cream of your explorer. What should i say. You´ve stolen the cows all their milk. It is a trendy colour these days (really don´t know why) and just perfect for your eyes. The best choice (except black which is really hard to theme) Mr. T: As always worth a detailed view MORE than once

WinT, you are THE hack/custo reference tool. I am always at your site and virutalplastic looking things up. You have so many hacks going on here it takes me awhile to figure out what your doing lol. The SS aesthetics are decent, but its your custo and procedures that make you so invaluable to this community. Keep it up man, btw I love the wall =)

wint is the hacking-minimalism man ... already commented on this at your forums.
Just to let people know this style is usable its just not for everybody ... I have family that use this comp so I can't go to the extremes of minimalization that wint does.

Oops, forgot to add: Running Win98,
explorer shell, Tclock 2, XCap by Methodik to center titlebar text,
Eaticons to get rid of the icons, and PKTray by PK to hide the minimized tasks. Displayset for the color scheme, and the rest is done with Resource Hacker.*Edit: MaRZ... you have to be in XP's classic mode. I'm thinking the file replacement process is the same as the one used for DLL's. You can use Replacer by Undefined which will do it for you. You'll only have to reboot. You can find it at
http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/ Senex... these shots do take alot of time, but it's not that bad though. The foundation is there mostly, add new stuff, redo older stuff, etc... lot's of fun :) You have a great style, and I look forward to your DLL modding shots very much :)*Edit: Thanks everyone for the great reviews, it's much appreciated, and for the wonderful words spoken by all of you. Thank you :)
