the winamp skin is pretty neutral and would go with anything really, but i'd say try to match it to the task bar a bit better, it looks flat compared to it..... the icons are pretty nifty ...but it needs more work, like you said. keep it up...

winampskin is also quite good
-5 for color-matching
and -10 for using windowblinds (coz it suxxxx!)
