I love it. Really creative whether one likes chess or not. Create use of colors. Perfect size for me. And very usable. What surprised me was not seeing a 100 comments. Rainlenders are awesome. Especially ones done right like this one.

One thing I did notice. The calendar,itself,doesn't show "todays" date highlighted. For somebody just glancing at a calendar,that might not work. Is there any way to solve that issue. You created an "event" on Todays date.
Otherwise...great.
