harper, have you considered gDesklets or SuperKaramba?

yep, consider one of those two harper. gDesklets if you use GNOME or Superkaramba if you use KDE.

I had Konfabulator for about a week. It Slowed My computer down a lot (It's just a Compaq Presario, Nothing Special). Then They wanted me to pay for it. Oh Well. I'm Past that whole widget thing now anyway.

I forgot to mention before, but adesklets is also available for Linux.

Additionally, once Enlightenment DR17 is released, you'll be able to create some of the slickets eye-candied widgets around. The CVS version compiles and runs fine for many users, so give it a whirl if you're interested.

Yeah I tried both of those. They blow. :( Both wicked resource hogs. My box is old.
