i never used LS and today i inst. it to use Aero's "tilt"
i'm having the following problems
when i try to open a window ...like msn , FF or annother folder it opens for a second and then it closes ...in other words they don't show up unles i maximize all windows ...
also is it possible to have a taskbar while using LS? cause i would like to keep my taskbar if thats possible and how do i do this ...i tryed looking for awnsers on the net but couldn't find anny ...and the LS site is down for a few days now

im not certain what to say about the first issue. i havent heard of anyone else having that problem so far. do you have any conflicting background programs that have to do with the desktop?
anyone else got any ideas?
it is possible to have a taskbar while using ls...ive had the habit for quite a while of using alt+tab or middle click, depending on whats more convenient at any given time. middle click should bring up a list of tasks for you, does it?
if you're absolutely dead set on having an explorer style taskbar, get in touch with me i will see if i can set something up for you.
in the mean time, i'll rack my brain a bit for a solution to the window problem.
what is the correct line to put into the popup config file to put a shortcut to a program like firefox in your litestep popup? i can do folders fine i just cannot figure out how to do a program.
Dunno if this helps but I've lost all need for a taskbar with Litestep by using a combination of 5 virtual desktops and winroll (helps having a hi-res screen too).
Each desktop has a certain purpose (web/mail/etc, web development, graphics, folders, etc) and things feel so much more under my control now. I can't go back, I've tried and it felt so cumbersome.
this really isn't working out...i re-instaled LS ...did every step , but nothing opens up ...when i open up one of my progr. it shows for like a second and then its gone ...in the default theme there is this taskbar and the progr. shows in that taskbar but when i click on it nothing hapens ...incl my messenger ...pictures....etc what is it i'm doing wrong here
I have a litestep theme with a taskbar in it... you could use the code and mod the graphics and stick it in on aero's theme. just look at my profile for deanach3
I occasiontally have problems with windows/programs that I know are open but won't show up (like they're way off screen maybe). I haven't determined exactly what it is, I suspect it's the vwm I'm using. I used to have the same problem with Y'z Shadow too, so I stopped using it.
My current workaround is to use AutoSizer which lets me re-center the windows. It's a nuisance but it doesn't happen that often. You could try it to see if it works, at least it'd give you an idea of what's going on.
I had the same problem with litestep - the programs don't disappear, they just minimize. VERY fristrating, as this happens with all dialog windows, too, so you can't even say "OK" to changing themes. it's not really a fix, but about the same time, windows decided to get corrupted and give me the NTLDR missing error, so I did a full re-install
now litestep works ok.
one thing I did note was when installing tilt, one of the modules (ckhotspot I thnk) gave the option of intsalling 1 of 2 dll's... this may be the root of these issues... seems to make sense... if somehow all windws get treated as hotspots, and have autohide...
