5mb at my apt, though it doens't feel liek that when all the roommates are online, and anywhere from 1.5mb - 5mb depending on what coffee house I go to. =)
24.0 kbps if I'm lucky. Otherwise, 21.6. With no hope of ever getting DSL or Cable in my area. And satellite costs upwards of $600 for the hardware and $70 a month. Zombie Christ, that's expensive.
I thought i would never see that 56k post, man I was scared. Yeah i got 256k which is pretty much as fast you can get down here without paying outrageous sums of money. Im paying 50 dollars for it, expensive? I used to pay the same sum of money for 64k 4 months ago
theoretically, 56 kbps. in practice, it varies between 31 and 44 kbps, depending on my luck I guess. on Linux i have reached the amazing speed of 45333 bps :P (Linux is quite good for the Internet)
I just moved out and i'm going from 50kbps to 8000kbps down-wind (it'll be running in vacuum mode ofcourse ;] sucking the internet dry) ... who said you had to do it cheap as a student!
