Anyone have any idea why it is whenever I view a category, the pictures a lot of the time only load a tiny sliver of themselves? Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if there's a way to fix it.

wouldn't the page look the same even on a 14.4kbps (ah, the old days), ruling out connection issues ... unless he's viewing the site on a pda or smart-phone (i think everything looks squished up then).
form kindly provide the admin with more detailed information, a complete screenshot dump speaks a thousand words when trying to resolve in site errors.
It would look the same, but if his connection is too slow and cannot handle all of the data that's being shuffled around, the images could time out and not completely load. Well, that's my reasoning, as I'm entirely sure how TCP/IP and all of that neat stuff work.
form, have you tried viewing Customize in a different browser? Also, try disabling any ad-blocking software (if you're running any).
ah, so other people do have the same problem! libertine: what browser, operating system (sp?) firewall, router? any of this information would help in narrowing this problem down to a solution.
i have the same problem. i have a time warner cable connection (3.2 mb down & 356 kbps up), and i'm behind a 4-port smc barricade 7004vbr router running IE6 on SP2. i also get problems sometimes at deviantart (some thumbnails fail to load, and most full-size images load quickly and disappear). i'm going to try a different browser (most likely firefox).
i have a question for you, form: are you always logged into this site when you get the sliced images? i think it has something to do with whether you are logged in, because i don't get any poorly loaded images now that i'm logged in. and no problems at deviantart, either.
same problem, and only at custo. always logged in, and it only happens after i press 'back' from viewing a previous submission. havent noticed it since ive started using firefox, but used to use the latest IE and it happened then. refreshing does the trick, but if you click 'next page' it sometimes will give the slivers again.
Looks like the site moderator "Max" won't allow me to upload a screenshot for you guys to view and to further address this problem. He's telling me to upload the screenshot to my own website and that it's not proper content for customize.org. So, sorry.
Max did his job and sent me a msg a little something like this "Never upload anything like this ever again!!" so I decided to tell him like it is:
"No hard feelings. I'm just thinking you're not the right person for "member relations." If this webpage charged for membership and I were a paying customer, I'd have you fired. But considering it's not, I suppose throwing out commands to the members as if they are dogs is perfectly fine."
What Max should have done is told me to visit the "Contact" section of the website and email the Admin from there with a description of the problem and the screenshot. Instead he's done a great job of "member relations" and messaged me several times with degrading messages.
Just like everyone else form was asked to post a link of his work/problem from another site to the forum instead of uploading it as a sub. And he does not want to listen
We dont want this to turn into your personal rant section form.
