For your wallpaper section, you need to make it more navigatable.. all you can do is just go from top to bottom and bottom to top.. and if you want a certain wallpaper.. and you didn't book mark it.. you may have to go through 2000 wallpapers just to get to it eh...
I checked all the links and found only blazee templates. I'm not trusting a place that can't design their own site better than I can. Thank's for the advice, but the Main Concept of my site is originality an non-conforamlizm. I can't just slap the same exact layout as four hundred other sites in there. If you guys don't like this layout, I learned alot on this one, If I have to start over (As soon as I get some more feedback) Then It'll be even better this time. Questions, Anybody have any comments on weather I'm moving in the right direction? I tried to give the site a definite theme, even though the sites true theme is undefined. Does it need music, Animations, Flash? Or should it be less stimulating, and plainer? Please fill me in, I find that I hate the look of 99% of the sites out there. I just see the same thing again and again, wondering "How do they stay online peddling the same ole crap?" I know I run ads, but I try to make them blend in as best as I can. Some sites are just ads. No content, no stories, no music, no reviews, nothing. I realize I offer little of everything, but isn't that better than all of nothing?
Thank you, the Gallery is currently under supplied, but When I stock the images after a layout is chosen, I will keep your advice in mind. Thanks again for participating in this campaign!
Sooo, should I go Gold with the red setup? Is it as least as much an improvment in your eyes as it is in mine? If you havn't seen the old layout, click anything on the nav bar but home, thats the current 'sucks' vote.
'I can't just slap the same exact layout as four hundred other sites in there'
you dont have to, no doubt you want your website to be unique, just look at the other good websites concepts and layout, then get ideas from there, im not implying that you copy other sites. just use them as examples.
good luck man. ______________.. syxx visionleague™
True. That, though the ultimatly right decision, was the very thing I was trying to avoid. I had so hoped I'd be able to develope an inspiring site from my own imagination. But if I must conform a bit to achieve success, then I shall.
So I decided to go ahead and go Gold on the new layout since everyones gone. I hope to get more feedback later. For now, the red layout is getting taken to all the pages. We'll see how that goes....
All right guys, I have the new site up and operationonal, with no ads. I'm going to bed for the first time in two days. If you have any input, let me know. ~Distoriton
I never saw the first one, but the one I see needs a lot of work. For instance, your current banner is very bad because the edges aren't smooth. I would try using photoshop and brush up your skills.
definatly improved from v1, but i agree, the graphics aren't as smooth as they could be, giving it a yahoo-geocities feel(meaning that it feels you went around "right clicking, save as" to get your images, though i am not implying that you did)
I think I'm going to go smaller. See, I develope at 1152x768. If you view it lower, it looks big, and pixelated, and basically shitty. So, I must either develope at 800x600 or make the site really really small ( any ideas which way is better?) BTW, so you guys know, a month ago I couldn't place a table, and I've leanred DreamWeaver more or less on my own.
I might try scaling down the current images. Making the whole page fit at 800x600. If anyone thinks that a good/bad idea let me know. I can also either redesign the images, or do another completely new layout borrowing from the current one. I'm quite flexible.
Not to hog the thread, but in response to the Geocities response, http://www.geocities.com/distortion311/distortion_file.html That was my very first attempt at this. I just used the templates and such available on the site. I hope this shows the true level of my improvment since I began.
Your monitor resolution shouldn't drastically change how you develop your web site. If you're going to use a fixed layout, an 800 pixel width is fine, but why cram all the content into 600 pixels of height? It's perfectly fine to have people scroll through the page.
The images on your site need major work. Most of them need a little bit of anti-aliasing, and a few others need cleanup work. You'll also want to lighten up on all of the gradients and bevels you're using.
I just finished Putting a new layout to the server. I think it has reached a level where I am satisfied with it, but will glady make any changes seen fit. I am now working to enhance the graphics on the page, and will then impliment the new layout to the entire site...
The site has been reposted with Updated Graphics and some layout tweaks, Giving it a much better look and feel. Any suggestions on furthering this movement?
the images still feel a bit cheap and there doesn't seem to be an underlying theme. It still feels like a bunch of images stuck together, but it has improved.
well the true is that you have improved yourself A LOT good work man, still it isnt an eye candy, try something simple, like lodger ( http://www.lodger.tv/ )
_________ kristhian .·. bang bang i shot you down .·.
you know.. simple isn't always a bad thing. design isn't so bad, but you need to work on your photoshop skills. that site looks like an attempt of a 5 year old photoshop tutorial gone wrong, nothing personal ;)
I am trying to improve my graphical skill. Currently , I am still getting used to using a trackball. If things don't look up for the graphics, I'll switch over to the mouse for drawing. Thanks again guys, your making this SOOO much easier. But, I don't think 5 year olds can work with layers ;-> ~Distortion
Sorry but yes... it sucks, its not very smooth looking. A lot of jagged edges and the format looks bad for some reason... Maybe have a menu on the left/right side instead of the top.

Soooo, three hours later, and I just got that nav bar to work right. I'm putting my every effort into this layout. If it takes all night, I want it good...
