As you should know, customize.org is a moderated site. That means that the staff can and will remove anything they feel should be removed. This means copyrighted materials, rips and just plain old subpar work. And yes, that means that the staff will use their own personal judgement for what they think is subpar. Trust us. We are not submission nazis, deleting for fun. We have experience with submissions and we have a pretty good idea what others will and will not use. Just because you like your submission, doesnt mean others will. If something of yours is deleted, it is not personal.
However, this should not be news to you. You should have all agree to the Submission Agreement if you have submitted.
"Before you submit any files, please be aware that Customize.org is a moderated site. As per the Submission Agreement to which you have already agreed, Customize.org reserves the right to remove any material which you submit."
I don't want to sound like I am bitching, but close to 80% of the time I remove something, I get an angry complaint.
I just ask that if something of yours is deleted, please remember the custo policies and try to understand.
how about if anyone wants to bitch about their sub being deleted, they private messege me via the site? i like making boys cry. ^_^ *gets out the instruments of pain*
but seriously, please take what frosteed said to heart everyone. customize IS a moderated site. if we think anything violates our policies, it WILL be deleted. that goes for subs, comments, and things said in the forums.
read the submission agreement again, take a moment to think about if your sub is something others will use, upload it to your site and link it in the forum and ask others if they have suggestions for it if you don't think it's finished...if you want more explanation as to why your sub was deleted, then pm the admin who did so and ask them politely for more information.
so does this mean that 70% of the wallpapers will be deleted from the new uploads, because they arn't good at all. Way below subpar if you ask me. I'm not gonna point any out but it's pretty obvious
whether something is good or not is completely subjective.
I'm all for aggressive moderation, but if it were up to me we probably sometimes wouldn't see a new wall for several days. That might be kind of boring. : )
colossus72 [c72] Customize.org Staff member relations, submissions.
i'd rather see a good wall in a few good days then see boring walls everyday.
This community just isn't what it used to be a year ago, but thats the point of a community, that it changes. In my opinion it's not at it's high point right now and thats because there is no aggressive moderation like there used to be before
Unfourtantly the stuff that should be moderated isn't, do to the lack of submissions. Maybe if moderated more people will understand that our standerds are higher and they will try a little harder next time.
Moderation is good, in moderation. If you delete something because it's bad, the person it belonged to only knows it was bad, and not how bad it was, like if they'd gotten feedback ;-) ~Distortion
As I have said... "if something is deleted and you want feedback, post a link to it in the message boards and ask others for feedback..."
I dont have the time to help every person better their submissions. Even if I did, I couldnt. I'm not the master off all things customizing. I cannot tell you everything little thing that is wrong with your submission. Its much better for you to ask the general custo visitors what they think and let everyone help you out. You wouldnt just want my input anyways. :)
Asking why bumping a thread, that shouldn't need to be bumped... If people just read the guidelines of joining, and submission policies, is a bad comment?
" Everday is a good day Peter, with two scoops of raisins. "
This thread shouldnt need to be bumped, because people SHOULD read those policies, but not everyone does or they just ignore them. I bumped this thread because I think more people need to see it.
Im not trying to start any beef with you or anything testing, but let me do my job. If you dont think the thread should be bumped, just ignore it. Your opinion isnt needed.
