ok. i'm going through a breakup. i like breakup songs. well, basically sad songs in general. i wouldn't mind listening to some more, so who has a favorite breakup song? Mine are:
coldplay - the scientist george jones - he stopped loving her today beatles - let it be cat stevens - it's a wild world
5 Steps: Going Through a Breakup 1. Purchase The Cure's "Pornography" album if you do not already have it. 2. If you have any other friends who are going through a break up as well; contact them. 3. Gather in a smallish room lit only by candles and discuss your relationship troubles. 4. Put in the CD and put out all the lights, sit and silence and listen to the album to it's completion. 5. Remember it's down the street, not across.
wow....I'm surprised at you people. You've left out the king:
Nine Inch Nails - Something I can Never Have
Still, I find that listening to this depressing music while going through a depressing time is...well...depressing. You need to be trying to lift up, not drag even further down.
Dance / hip-hop played to the loving gyrations of a stripper's hips do well. :) Strip Clubs can be the cure for the common break-up.

and the girl's perspective is only about sex and how the guy made her cheat. which makes me feel better. eamon is talking about being cheated on and being hurt, and the girl's perspective is all about how he has a small dick or something. going through a breakup is starting to realize girls aren't actually sensitive.. and that response is not a sensitive response.
thanks for the good songs everyone, and keep them coming.. it still hurts :\
Listed as by the vibe of each song: DJ Shadow - Six Days (sad) RJD2 - I Really Like Your Def Jux Baby Tee (energy) Bones Domingo - Violet (uplifting, not as good as Clint Mansell's Requiem for a Dream but still good, rare) Aesop Rock - Limelighters (hype) DJ Shadow - War Is Hell (chill) El-P - Stepfather Factory (angry, maybe that's just me though) Beatie Boys - Boomin' Granny (fun) Party Fun Action Committee - I Shoulda Known (funnier)

I would personally be a big fan of soft/chillout tunes myself, I like to listen to this stuff to calm down... and considering music largely shapes my mood, I'll suggest a few ambient trance stuff, and try to tell ya what CD's ya can find it on, if I know
Jon Hopkins - Lost in Thought : Ministry Of Sound Chillout Annual 2002 Everything But The Girl - Miss you ATB - Let you go Jakatta feat Seal - My Vision Michael Woods - Solex
those are a few trance/ ambient trance songs I find calming... but try some Cafe Del Mar stuff.. its all pretty good for calming you down...
