Um. Obviously you will get charged for putting it on the net. You can take all the nude pictures of yourself, you want. Just don't post them on the net especially if your under age.
Parents should make sure their kids aren't exposing themselves to people on the internet... especially the kind of people that look at young ones. I definitely think the parents need to take the fall on this one.
uh shocks, it doesn't say anything about her posting them. She gave them to people who she chatted with. I realise that counts as distribution, but it's still incredibly dumb.
and Arznek: why should her parents take the fall for something they (most likely) had no idea was going on? even if they (parents in general actually) goto extreme measures to make sure they know what their kids are up to, the kids are still going to find ways around it. can't really say taht the parents shoudl take the fall when you don't know if they even knew about it, much less what their stand on it is.
Arznek is right. It's pretty much a parent's job to know their children enough to determine how their internet access should be monitored. If you have a promiscuous//exhibitionist daughter, you may want to keep an eye on her.
I think every now and again it's good to know you can still attract women.
4 things that should happen: 1) People shouldn't be charged with possession of child pornography when they're the featured porn star. 2) Somebody should investigate the pedophiliac cop who stumbled onto those pictures. 3) The parents should be charged with child neglect. 4) Hugh Hefner should wait three years, then contact the girl and offer her a contract.
If practice makes perfect and nobody's perfect, why practice?
Charted, the moral standing of the parents has nothing to do with whats legal or whats not. Chances are the parents actually purchased the computer too. Any right minded Parent wouldn't let their 15 yr old daughter get their porn on. It's child endangerement.
Parent/Guardian. They look out for the child. Plain and simple. This would include them not letting the child do stupid things such as making nude photos of themselves at posting them online.
There is no way the parents can stop this from happening. If it's putting a security lock or whatever. She can still distribute them threw e-mail, instant messenger or give them to a girlfriend to post. She could create her own site on geocities. Anything is possible with a computer. She could have easily asked some nerd from her school how to get past all these security features and that kid would get a peek in reward :P Monitoring the kids/teens in general would be a hard task, because you would have to take your child with your everywhere or hire a babysitter. Then again the 15 year old can always get up at night and take some pictures and post them where ever the next day. I can keep listing many ways she can do things.
You are correct in saying that there are many ways around it. However, if somebody is willing to go to those lengths to break the law and expose herself, she likely has some psychological problems that need to be remedied. By that logic, you shouldn't bother with any sort of precautions because it doesn't matter anyway.
I think every now and again it's good to know you can still attract women.
I still reckon its the parents fault. Why is she into that shit of posting pics of herself and being in chatrooms. Theres something that influenced her that her parents either let her think its okay, or something she wanted to do because she was intrigued but didnt see it as morally wrong. I always thought it was the parents who tried to teach/impose some moral standard on their children. Its not like we see 1/5 girls at the age of 15 doing this. So i think it is the parents.
Why cant 15 year old girls talk on the phone about boys and gossip or go play the MMORPG version of Barbie.
Since when do your parents talk to you about posing nude and taking pictures of yourself being bad. Parents talk to you about not doing drugs and about boys and all other stuff. They wouldn't sit down with you and say "hunny, i never want to see you pose nude". Everything is influenced from school. School is what makes you the person you are. Kids these days are way different then all of us were. It sickens me when I go outside and see little 12 year olds dressed up as gansters and 12 year old girls in tight pants. Another example would be my 11 year old brother who swears more than an average teenager, and everyone says that I thaught him this stuff, which I did not. It's all from school and before school it comes from Tv. All these things are not easily controlled by parents.
Well if the trend continues parents would do something of the sort. I dont think parents ever caught their son masturbating to internet porn 15 years ago, but they obviously now have to talk to their kids about that, and what the internet will show them. Since they find a way around it.
Parents have to evolve with the times and find ways to combat shit out their for their kids. its their responsibility. Just because kids find a way around it doesnt mean they dont have to try.
School is a combination of a shitload of cultures coming together in general, where u think these kids get their ideas from? ... tv, internet, brothers, sisters ... their parents. If every parent taught their kids some sort of respect for themselves and some morals it wouldnt of happened. Not gonna happen though. So parents have to protect their kids from these bullshit influences. If not everyone eventually is basically fucked.
It's the same law logic that underaged models cannot pose nude for most dist. media, with the few exceptions for photography and mainly non-erotic films, and even those circumstances is under large scruntiny from the "eyes",

my point is not necessarily the moral standing of the parents.
parents really do need to pay more attention to their kids nowadays. i know this. i have kids. two of them. parents have always found bliss in ignorance of what their children are up to. no one wants to sit down and have 'the talk' with their kids. it's uncomfortable. waa. it still has to be done. i've started already raising my daughters to know that they can talk to me about anything and that i'm cool with discussing it and giving them advice. and TEACHING them. that's the problem right there. where sex (among a 100 other things) is concerned, no one wants to teach their kids until it's too late. you have to start instilling (sp?) the values and knowledge of this stuff in them at a young age. teach them what you do and don't approve of. explain to them the physicalities of it. teach them what you can and let them come to their own decision. they're a lot more likely to stick with something they decided for themself than to something that a parent is trying to force on them.
even when a parent does all of this or takes the other route and keeps the kid under lock and key, there's no way to keep a kid from doing what he/she wants to do. whatever the reason is - rebellion, 'psychological problems', whatever - they're going to find a way around everything you've tried to do. it's the nature of the species. most likely, this girl doens't have psychological problems, she just has 15 year old girl issues. girls that age crave attention. that's all she's doing.
My parents gave me every talk under the sun and none of that came into play when I made a choice to do something when I was younger. As far as I was concerned I knew best. Now that im older though I often hear those stupid little talks in my head on a day to day basis. Funny.
(gear) imma go get a glass so i can put my nuts in some salt water.
Right, it's the parent's fault. That makes shit loads of sense, because you would be able to use that excuse no matter what age you are.
The girl made a concious descision to post the pictures. It doesn't matter if the parents told her not to. Do kids that get busted for smoke go, "Oh, but mommy didn't tell me not to so I thought it was okay!" No. If anything the parents should be against her, going "WTF" at her the whole time.
[If you have no prejudics at all, you don't seem to mind murderers, rapists, theives, terrorists, drug dealers, and other evil people, right?]
ere.mite, we all know you hate the U.S. I can only hope that in a few years you understand the way the world works better. However, I should inform you that the entire civilized world has laws against child pornography, and this case could've been mirrored most anywhere. I could've made the case that only in France could somebody marry a dead person, or only in Germany could a man find a person willing to be killed and eaten. Fact is, these isolated events don't represent their respective countries.
Im with shocks on this one. I have a 15 year old sister. It doesnt matter what my parents do, if she wants to do something she will do it. Unless you are going to be with your child 24 hours a day, they are gonna do a lot of stuff you have no clue about. Its not the parents fault.
This flood of Secular, and anti Trust policies has a new drop to the rush I guess... I have seen at least fifty seperate accounts of forum goers or chat room ppl posting pics of their genetails or ass for comedic value... why arent they arrested? How the hell was she harming anyone? The people she gave them out to where probably cyber partners :/
Doesn't the goverment have anything better to do? Like maybe create jobs and try to end poverty? Oh wait... busting a 15 yr old girl for taking a picture of herself nude is more important...
_______________ "To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." ---Theodore Roosevelt
As if you could use that no matter age you are ... blaming the parents. Thats just pathetic. Shes 15 obviously, the parents are meant to care for her, she aint in a proper legal capacity to fend for herself and think, shes called a "child" for a reason. But apparantly all parents are fucking up because kids according to "sources" will do it and get away with it anyway. Parents fuck up anyway if their children rebel and dont listen to em to a large extent.
It's not a matter of blaming the parents, but they do share the responsibility. Remember Columbine - the parents should have some responsibility, because they should've known their kids were homicidal//suicidal and building bombs in their basements or garages.
This isn't at all related in scope to Columbine, but the parents can't just be blissfully ignorant in any case. Who knows - maybe they did know about this, and maybe they did try to stop it. While kids obviously will rebel in all sorts of ways, that's no excuse for doing nothing as a parent.
well what I want to know is how much that webcam is now worth and as a bidding member of the customize community to what resolution the image was captured at amd whether any image minipulation took place.

I'm probably going to get caught for this but I feel for that girl. thats absolutly horrible. I don't see why it matters if you take pictures of yourself. I have before but not for pron but for my bf who is states away from me most the time. Theres other things in this world we should be worried about. As long as she wasn't posting the pictures everywhere then it shouldnt matter. I've been blackmailed and threatened about my pictures because someone hacked. thats not my fault. anyways.

It's hard to get caught for anything, seeing as voicing your opinion is hardly a crime ... but it is kind of pointless to revive a three-year-old thread to do so.
And as long as we're doing it, why the hell not? I'll add my two cents: Yes, it is ridiculous, at least on a surface level, to charge her with possession of child pornography if the pictures in question are of herself. But if you think about it ... child pornography is illegal. The fact that she is the featured model in the pictures is irrelevant. I'll explain:
Suppose, for a moment, that somebody takes a picture of himself getting fucked by a dog. He keeps this picture on his hard drive for a while. Then, he takes it in to Best Buy to have it gussied up all nicely. The resident computer fellow there notices the picture and reports it to the authorities. The man is now arrested for beastiality, and possessing pictures thereof. His defense, of course, is that he cannot be charged with that, since he is the one being depicted. But the fact of the matter is, he still possesses pictures depicting beastiality, which happens to be illegal in the fictional state in which he lives. Bingo, bango, he's going to jail.
The same logic applies here, although it is admittedly a bit more cloudy. She still has child pornography on her computer ... it just happens to be of her. Now, if I were the lead prosecutor in this case, I'd just resign the case, tell her to delete the pictures and not take any more (which is moot now, as from what I gather, she'd be 18 by now). And that'd be that.
