gforce says:

I went into the local PC store the other day and had a play on a Mac, loaded up iCal and have been searching for ways to get it working on my Windows PC ever since.

Is there anyway of doing this??? Or will it ever become a Windows program like iTunes???

Please help...

Thanks in advance.

nope and nope, i tunes went to pc to help sell ipods (as this is the true purpose of the music store). i'm sure there are equally capable pc progs out there for calendating (outlook does it doesnt it?). i have and use iCal, its good, but not so good i'm dying to run it on my PC too.

True enough there are programs out there that do it, and Outlook is doing its job at the moment.

I just much prefered the look and feel of iCal, like iTunes... Actually pretty much all Mac software is pretty good. I have the iBar theme on XP and Object Dock so my computer is almost a Mac.

Theres just something unknown stopping me from buying one. Proberly lack of funds.

I have an old 'Stuff' magazine at home and it shows an application that Macs can run to then run Windows programs, I forget the name... Is there not a program to run Mac programs on Windows.

Can anybody tell I really really want to run iCal in Windows haha...

a virtual OS will run at about 70% normal speed. so even if you ran virtual XP on a mac it wold still suck for gaming.

hail the custo people, instead of emulating an OS, is it that hard to recode the entire OS to be compatible with the windows platform?
I often do this with small applications when I'm out of cash, drop by development sites get some example code and try to recode the program to my needs. I'm probably wrong in saying this but isn't the OS X platform built on many smaller applications than the likes of OS 8 (similar to XP with many applications forming its core, as apposed to 98)?

i have a mac but never used ical. my mom got an emac. for most people...infact the majority...what the emac provides is over and above what they will ever use broswing the internet and writing papers.

at some point this idea will spread and the processor speed race will slow down.

sh%^^, forget to finish my post,

For expensive calendaring app, try out project management programs that are basically built on top of calendaring programs, like MS Project (known as Schedule+ in the very old days).

Project management is the only use I will have for any calendar program anayway. For someone who is busy all the time and on the go, who has the logic for wasting all those time to inputing you schedules in a very unaccible and/or troublesome way anyho?!
