Ok, this is something kind of out there, but let me explain.
I doubt anyone here is into case modding (examples), but if you are, this wont seem as crazy. So I was browsing my forums and saw this and it made me think about skinning. Wouldnt it be cool to be able to skin your computer case? Like, every time you wanted a new skin, all you would have to do is take off the old one and put on a new one. (Without replacing the case itself.) Im sure this could be done with some sort of vinyl like material stuck to the case. You would have to find a way to print onto the vinyl, but if you could do it, you could skin your case and it would fit right in with your desktop! lol, its a crazy idea, I know. Anyone think it could be done?
Actually, I was thinking about it, and having the case be skinable would be even cooler. But, that would be really expensive to do. Unless... well, if you could make something like the box idea (except out of metal/plastic) Having a case made for skinning would be cool, but hard to do.
Not really skins, but I have seen appliques that are quite large and detailed, designed to stick to any (relatively) flat case panel. You'll just have to search on google or some case-modding sites to find what I'm talking about. I do recall that the company's solution to differing case designs and sizes was to make the product out of vinyl I think, that had no adhesive, apply a small ammount of water created an effective vacume to hold the "skin" on the case.
