Can't say I'm a fan of the Darkness. Supposedly they're not a joke, but it all seems one long laugh at the people who're buying the album to me. I personally felt the Strokes album was very average, as well. Maybe I just haven't listened to it enough. Now Explosions in the Sky, their album is fantastic. Probably not that many post-rock fans round here though.

the darkness aren't a joke, they just have a sense of humor about what they're doing. And how is it a laugh to people buying the album if they enjoy the music? Who really cares if its a joke or not.

it's really refreshing to see a guitar solo on mtv these days when punk bands are the hype....
