Oh man, i'm pulling my hair out on this one. I was just minding my own business surfing the net, then all of a sudden I click out of a pop-up, and my explorer freaks out. Everything froze, so I simply ended it in the programs running menu, and had everything refreshed. Only one thing was wrong, my taskbar was frozen. Having little patience I just restarted my computer. When it started back up, the taskbar was frozen. The bottom righthand corner didn't even show the programs running icons. I restarted several more times, but no difference. When I minimize anything, it doesn't even go down into the taskbar, it just disappears. The only way I can wake it up is if I close explorer all together and have it refresh itself. But still then, as soon as I open one program, everything freezes again. Currently, I'm not running any sort of program that alters the taskbar in any way, so I have no clue what is causing the taskbar to do this.
I could have probably said that in less words, but I tend to be descriptive about my problems. :) Hope I can get this straightened out. Thanks guys.

4. don't use IE, use a secure browser like Mozilla, Firebird or Opera. I currently use them all. IE doesn't care about web standards, so you shouldn't use it anyways since it prohibits webdesigners to properly code their website. (Problems with div's and lacking CSS2 support) 5. update your system with all necessary security updates
imtoomuch>Scanned C:\ for viruses and used Spybot/Ad Aware to get rid of all the spyware I could. Still nothing. Blahhh.
notrix> i'll have to look into that once I get this problem fixed downtown08> lol, yeah but the taskbar is so much more convenient for me than alt+tab. ;p ere.mite> i don't know, they never bothered me that much, and I'm just too lazy to do anything about it, but I'll definitely check that out. ty.
hmm. dunno guys, any more suggestions? everything is still functional, I just feel naked without a taskbar here, and either way I would like to know what's going on with my computer, lol.
