I just posted a recent wall I've made, and for some reason the admins found it rediculously unacceptable, and removed it. I would like to know why. I worked on that one for a good while, i think its very usable.. I dont see any reason why it would be removed, Its just as good as any other submission on here. Am i completely wrong in thinking this? VIEW:
you want public opinion? I think it's worth a delete. It might contain a lot of work. But that work flew into so many different directions that the result looks absolutly terrible, the single parts are not very well for themselves and not even well connected (graphically). I would have given this a 20-30 - worth a deletion from my opinion.
another improved arrogant comment unhampered by any kind of competence
I don't think the public would know why your submission was deleted.
Take a look around at some of the higher ranked walls.
If you still feel that your wall shouldn't have been nuked the only truthful response you'll get is from the admins..
PS- I didn't delete it.
Here's my public opinion.
Wynton: [82] The heavy dark gradients and dark colors contrast nicely with the clouds, however the whole left side could use a little work. It doesn't fit in with the rest of the image, and the lighter tones on the left side stand out like a sore thumb. The huge gradient at the top is too large and overpowers the rest of the image. The image on the left would make a cool wall by itself, as well as the image on the right, just not together.
why didn't you just email it to an admin before you submitted it, and ask for an opinion, like you're supposed to, instead of making another "Why was my wall deleted" thread? and when you got what you wanted, the public opinion, you flame everybody who tried to help you make it better or give you that 'public opinion'. nice. real nice.
Toular, no you don't have to have vectors in your wallpapers to get a decent rating. I ranked it as I saw fit, but it was moderated by another admin. The truth is it's not that great of a wall.
Here is a little secret. Take your wallpaper and mirror it. That is what it looks like to everyone else. The mirrored image is like seeing it for the first time for the artist. Try it, and then complain.
...i really dont like customize.org...u cant even tell what u really mean without getting slammed whats the point of posting if u cant say what u really mean?...no more too add here...
You can say what you mean, just take care HOW YOU SAY IT, just like with any other situation in life. Be mindful of how your words might be interpreted by others. Common sense. People (not you, pyrethrum) who run their mouth without being self-aware deserve to get slammed.
Example: when you're out with the guys or a buddy or whatever, and he says something stupid, it's prefectly OK to say "awww fuck off, man, whaetver . . . . " in a chummy kind of way. Would you say the same thing to your girlfriend/wife? I guarantee you a good backhand across the teeth if you do. :-)
Why are u all giving him a hard time he only asked for a simple opinion, anyway. I think the wallpaper is allright, but however, I think it could use a lot more work.
everyone is giving him a hard time because he is making a ordeal about it by posting a thread on another hopeless cause because he didnt do the recommended thing, which is veiw older threads about this very subject. ohhh, i almost forgot. he is accusing us of being trend whores that only like one certain thing.
i've looked back through this post a few times and it seems like it stayed composed and fairly mature until the dude made that asinine vector comment...
all the admins were diplomatic, toular was just too angry to accept any help. arz even offered more help after toular's vector comment.
all i can say is, if you're not prepared for the reaction, don't submit your work publicly.
Some walls have combinations of 3D, ps and vector! Those must be the best ever since since we apparently rank how stuff is produced rather than how it looks.
Your wall is a hack piece, sorry, but it is. Some good ideas but nothing is polished or pulled together.
