I always wanted to play with linux, now that I got it, what are some good media players for it? Is there a way to get flash and shockwave? Where is a good place to get all the stuff that I would use in everyday pc use that I would use on windows. Thanks for your help, and links are a plus. = 0 )

WinE. The Windows Emulator. It's suposedly fairly good now a days. The best option for those that don't want to pay for a WinOS and not not pay for it.

Very good Munky...that is indeed correct.
Wine is actually an implementation of the windows api for Linux. There's a good version with some directx support available from http://www.transgaming.com
The best thing you can start doing is learning to get away from your windows software...here are some comparable pieces:
MS Word - Abiword, Openoffice Writer MS Excel - Gnumeric, Openoffice Spreadsheet Photoshop - The Gimp Illustrator - Sodipodi Internet Explorer - Mozilla, Phoenix, Galeon, Konqueror
Good luck!
