I wonder if any of you know any good anime series tv shows, or movies? Cause I been bored lately, and been watching some, but, I havent the knowledge of all the shows out there, and wonder if you guys know any of the good ones?
I heard a lot of great suggestions here. ;) Really shocked I didn't see Death Note or Gintama mentioned though. Also, you should check out Shoujo Kakumei Utena. There's one that'll make you think.
I have 3 anime that you guys would enjoy. Gurren Laggen( Action/ Adventure,Mecha ,Sci-Fi) Marmalade(Drama) Tenjou Tenge( Fighting) Oh and another is D-Gray Man(Sci-Fi,Action/Adventure, Spiritual) All are really good so be sure to watch them.
Try HunterXHunter - its the best anime i had watched by far, amzing story, it has something that most animes dont have and you would really enjoy(not most of the later part).

First off, the most highly mentioned anime has to be FLCL, which is one of my favorite animes. But my favorite anime would have to be Karin, as in the vampire one. it so cool how Karin is different from the rest of the vampires and it's such a cute story! I love it! The animes I recommend:

Oh btw, does anyone know a good yaoi anime? One that takes place in just normal reality, no magical stuff. I'm probably gonna get dissed, but I love yaoi anime, it has some of the best romances and love scenes ever! It makes me want to be guy just so i can be gay! lol.

i know your all going to kill me for this but Zoids is a great anime series one that i remember waking up every morning at 6am to watch so its a classic in my eyes
I would definitely say some good ones are... Bleach-people might say that this anime is overrated and stretched out, but it is a story with a good story line and you have to watch it from the beginning to fully appreciate it. Death note. Escaflowne-GO WATCH THIS ONE! Blood+-personally my favorite. Eureka 7-just finished watching and it was pretty good. Some funny/cute ones are... Fruits Basket. Marmalade Boy. Ouran High School Host Club. Prince of Tennis. Oh and another good series has to be Cowboy Bebop although the ending was suckish. Fushigi Yuugi is pretty good too, but be prepared to cry towards the end.
I don't care if I'm a necroposter, I love this thread. I've watched many great animes because of it.
However, I can't believe only one person has mentioned The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu). It's definitely one of the greatest animes I've ever seen; it has the elements of everyday school life, sci-fi and the surreal, and it also contains those crucial elements of romance. It was broad casted out of order, and I recommend watching it that way first before watching it in order. It's more charming that way.
Other animes that I really liked (I starred the ones that I watched because of this thread): Chobits (sooooo great) Ouran High School Host Club (I don't remember who recommended this to me, but it's great. Extremely funny and sweet, although perverted.) Full Metal Alchemist (HELLZ YES, FOO'!) FLCL* (genius... and insane) Death Note (brilliant, but the ending made me want to punch someone in the face) NGE* (....fabulous) Azumanga Daioh* Hellsing* Wolf's Rain*
I recently watched Fruits Basket... It was okay, but I wouldn't recommend it. The protagonist (Honda Tohru) was kinda annoying, even though she could be shockingly profound. The ending was really unsatisfying and abrupt; there was little build up and the last three episodes seemed really rushed. Some people were raving about it, but I guess it's not exactly my cup of tea.

Nobody has mentioned this, but it's really good. It's about a wandering warrior that wields a huge sword. (think FFVII) The setting is medieval times, swords and bows. Human and otherworldly antagonists.
Sadly, the end of the anime is only the beginning of the real story. I have only read some of the manga (which it is based off of) and need to pick it up again. The manga is HUGE! Tons of chapters.
If you like hack and slash with the hero duking it out against insane odds, then this anime is a good pick.

The best anime that I have watched recently are Mnemosyne( hands down, the best anime ever created since the dawn of the pen), straight jacket (you have to watch this) , Ergo Proxy (omg) Kaiba(looks kidish but it is meant for ADULTS ONLY!!!!) Amatsuki (cool but a little stretch for me) Denue Coil (surprising)Full metal alchemist (you can not hate the elric brothers) samuri champloo (this is funny sh*t) Gost in the shell (all of the movies including solid state society) Nana (this is a little girly) Cowboy bebop (great anime, not as good an ending though) ETC......

Berserk(it's missing alot of manga storyline but still great) Black Lagoon Code Geass Soul Eater Hunter X Hunter(if you have patience with this one you're in for a treat) Hajime No Ippo(even if you don't like boxing you should try this) Eureka Seven Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo GTO Michiko to Hatchin(like cowboy bebop except with hot brazilian chicks) Claymore

If you like the animation, and writing style of anime, but sometimes it seems like it drags on then DEFINITELY watch Afro Samurai. Its a very high action, low dialog, stylish, and unique series, and you can watch it all in a day or 2.
Also check out Samurai Champloo, and Full Metal Alchemist. They're more mainstream, and have even been on TV, but they're popular for a reason. They're well made. FMA has a follow-up movie to provide the proper ending called The Conquerer of Shambala.
Afro Samurai: Voices of Samuel L Jackson, and Ron Perlman with music by The RZA. Its a stylish, and action heavy series about revenge and violence.
Samurai Champloo: A story about 3 strangers whose chance meeting brought them together in search of a mysterious Samurai. It has some pretty unreal fight scenes, and good laughs without being cheesy.
Full Metal Alchemist: A story about two brothers on a quest to find a mythical stone that holds unknown powers. Its a dialog heavy series that really sucks you in, the fight scenes are well done, but the show depends more on its characters than fighting.
I'm not a fanatic of anime, had my "season" while teenager watching "Saint Seiya", however i listened to 4 tracks of the Cowboy Bebop Soundtrack and had to search it and see if it was as good as the songs! ... (*watching it now) it's awesome, from the cinematic style to the great soundtrack!...a little bit hard for teenagers btw...
