lol. why would you buy that sony crap clie. buy one of compaq's PDA's their nice and easy to use, and you can add stuff like GPS , and all sorts of stuff, well you probably already knew that. :)
Aero, if I were you, get the HP iPAQ H1910. It is one of the cheapest PPCs around and has the best screen for its price. Shocks, compaq iPAQs are kinda big, so that is why I went for the sony Clie. But since the H1910 is smaller than my clie, it makes me incredibly jealous.
Dell rocks! but why an upgrade? hmn .. i am not expirienced in using ppc or palms... but i really like sony and they have the best design ever for me. but not only design counts i know. the only one i´ve seen around here is the compaq and the dell colossus mentioned. and the details are really good... for my flavor. JUST an opinion more
The dell brick is plenti powerful and cheap, but since it is literally a BRICK and does not have "the best" screen, I prefer the H1910 which is the smallest PPC on the market.
Here's a question: I don't have a PDA yet, but I want/need one for work. I think I've told everyone I'm a freelance writer on the go, but if not.... ;)
I need power, color, actually the whole nine yards (and yes that is another golf analogy!), and ease of use to write with as right now I am using whatever scrap piece of paper I can find when I can't get my hands on a notebook.
.....These things look handy.....
What is the best one???
Miiro "........No, seriously, I can burn water......."
ViewSonic makes the best PPC handheld and has the best screen ever seen on a handheld (so says numerous tech reviews, TechTV, and many other sources) Good point to also mention, their priced just right :) Between $200 - $300.
well if anyone is going to get a PDA , never i repeat never get a Dell. dell is the biggest and stupidest company out there. :) if your gonna get a pda get a compaq or hp.

The word "Best" is ambiguous. The new Viewsonic PDA, said at Bargainpda's review in comparison to the H1910, feels cheap, and does not have as good screen. The specs of the Viewsonic is better than the H1910, but I am more worried about the screen as the 200mhz Xscale processor can be cranked up to 300mhz on an H1910.
i have visor, and i love it. no color, but it works wonders... i would be so unorganized if i didn't have it.
by the way..."the whole nine yards (and yes that is another golf analogy!)" - MIiro that is actually not a golf analogy. it comes from WW2. When pilots of fighter planes would use all their bullets on a target, they would go through 9 yards of bullets for thier machine guns. The expression came from them saying that if they went after something, they had "given them the whole nine yards."
if you are going to get a pda, and don't already have a pc.. think about a tablet pc... they are expensive.. but have best of both worlds... the two on the market now have the tap-screens you can write on like paper...
Why the hell would you need 300 mhz for a damn handheld? lol Ohh wait, so your BEJEWELED game can open quicker right? :) Anyways, Viewsonic definitely has the best screen available, I saw both of those handhelds (the H1910) and the Viewsonic at a computer show last month, and the H1910 is a piece o' crap. The screen is blurry and many of the units, so im told by the distributor , are shipping with dead pixels , just like my crappy KDS laptop :-P Viewsonic is better, hands down. Do your homework next time.
