seein' as how most of you guys are probably pros in the imaging field... i'd just love your opinions on what the best monitor (CRT 21" or larger) is out there for the type of work we do.

I've got a "Daewoo" (it's not branded) 17" and it's fine for everyday use for it's cheapness (yes I'm a student), but I think the best for a normal amount of money are the Viewsonic and Ilyama ones, from what I've heard.
If you want cheap large monitors there are a few places to look. Classifieds. Buisness auctions and used wholesale. Computer Edge magazine. (I think it's a national mag that's printed localy and with lots of local content)

most CAD companies upgrade their entire office every 2-3 years... and they've got some damn nice monitors that they let go relatively cheap... a friend of mine picked up one recently, it probably went for $1200+ new, she got it for $200
I just got a KDS Visual Sensations recently and the screen is flashing pink on me. I think it's my geforce 4 causing it tho.. Anyways, I would stray from any low grade KDS
I would have to say that Apple makes some of the best displays I have ever worked on. They are wonderful. I have a Viewsonic for my PC, and that is really good. The Apples just blow it away from my own emprical evidence.
My mixed club/house cd1: Available for a limited time only.Let me know what you think!
I previously had the Sony E400 19" and now I have the LaCie 22" for over 1 year, and it's absolutely the best monitor I ever owned... + the Super Bright mode is very usefull when watching movies.
I recently broke my 3-year old Sony 21" crt. It was a great monitor. Last week it started to turn a slight greenish tint and then it flickered its life away :(
