Ugh, I'm Having trouble installing Direct Connect onto my computer. It's the 1.0 Preview version or something. First thing that came up when I typed "Direct Connect" in Download.com. Lol, well, the installation goes fine up until the point that three pop-ups come up reading that the following files are currently in use... OLEAUT32.DLL OLEPRO32.DLL STDOLE2.TLB
I closed just about every program and still it says that the files are in use. Does anyone know what program I might be forgetting to close that uses these files to operate?
nope, but you can try booting up your computer in safe mode. when your comp is starting up, press F5.. or F8, i can't remember. hit the button when you see "press DEL to enter setup" or a similar message at the bottom.
anyway, running in safe mode will probably allow you to install the prog without getting any sharing violations.
Whoah, weird. I just went through my program files, and somehow DC is installed on my computer. Out of curiousity, I opened it, and as if now, it seems to be running fine. This is interesting. It's too late now to get serious with it. I'll wait until tommorow to work with it and see if I run into any problems. I'm sure I will seeing I didn't really do a very good install, obviously, Lol.
