I can agree with penaduny on this one. When people submit their art work, it has to be as good as shinters or someone elses on that level or else its like shit. Some of the comments ARE harsh and discouraging. This is no longer an art community but a war zone of people trying to show how much their work is better than others and tearing others apart instead of helping them. And when you do help them though, they'll think you are saying some bad shit to them. The people here are very cynical and narrow minded. There is no 'chance' at this website. You have to be as good as shinter or everybody will give you shit that feels like an assdrill crammed up your ass ( thats gotta hurt ). Hell yea shinter gotz some mad skillz and hell yea he is amazing but people need a starting point and without a beginning, there will be no advancing. With no advancing, there will be no number of the growing community of this kind of art but not only this kind of art but any kind. People will not get better. I was very close in leaving this website because of these kind of issues but I decided not to and try more.

Hey man.. reverie get some thick skin, quit worrying about what the next man has done, just post your stuff. The good thing about custo is that when you create something and submit you get the truth from the "PEOPLE" notice i did'nt say admin.

Likes and dislikes vary with the admins who rate stuff based on what they are persoanlly into or feeling at the time, but the PEOPLE reviews are worth more.

if you get one good rating, then you know someone else shares your view on what you think is good art, and the negative ones let it bounce off like rain drops on a rain x windshield.

I've been where you guys are now in fact, just a few days ago rk gave me a 1 because he got pissed about a comment I made on one of his submits. But I let it go because it was'nt worth fussing over and the other reviews were good so screw him and his femine self.

It's because this whole "graphic design" field is being saturated by more and more 13-15 year olds who have attitudes and ego's. The reason being is the software ( 3dstudio, PS, whatever ) is openly, and easily accessable now. A couple years back it took serious contacts and tons of warez and appz hunting to find it. Now it's as easy to download as ICQ. But you have to learn how to put up with it, filter it out, it's only going to get worse. That's the way it works. But one thing I don't get is coming here and bitching about how your leaving..it's a website. You never really "lived" here, you never owned it, and for the most part no one would even notice if you left. So instead of bitching about it, trying to make some grand exit for all to see, why not just leave..is it that hard?

well...it's sad that whody would say something like that, because I like whody, and most of the time his work is good. Penaduny, I really think it's a shame that you would let people get to you like that, I mean, come on. I was getting flamed for a while, and actually was never going to submit again until I saw the POSITIVE responses that I was getting, and I remembered how people would contact me to find out how I did this, or how I did that. All that just blocks the negative shit people say, and thanks to sticboy, I decided to keep doing what I do, because most people think it's cool. And if they don't fuck um...

hey..i like your work..the renders that you make are pretty damn slick...just don't listen to their bullshit unless it's constructive..that's art..there's always a critic..when times get tough, just keep on pushing

I've liked your work as well. And as VictorC once told me, it doesn't matter what others think, as long as you like it.

But I can see your point; you try to make something good, think its good, and get shot in the hands. Yeah, its kinda lame.
