I am attempting to do a MASS clean up of all the spam, thwarting their efforts and restoring customize back to normalcy.
As I can't possibly be on every submission at once, it would help a lot if some of the users on this site post usernames of spammers they see on the site.

Basically, if you still see their spam on the site, I haven't dealt with it yet (as I can delete all of a spammers posts in one or two clicks). I've been catching a lot of the new spammers, but I haven't had a chance to delve deep into the older posts/through various categories.
it's that dude who posted links to his website in the artists description area, and the download link is a picture- now he's using a different username- his uploads are good, but i cant get them because he didn't put it in the download link! (I can get to DepositFiles!!)

PS- how about we block this crazy bytch's IP? is that possible? I mean, you added a captcha- do you have enough administration rights to ban entire IPs?
As am I, but unfortunately all I can do is catch it when I see it, I'm unable to ban by ip (or even ip range) or use word filters to prevent this crap.
I'm sad to see you go canuccken, though I wish I could convince you to stay, you did a service to the community both with your uploads and your diligence in helping the admins out in this thread and otherwise. However if you wish me to prune your account, I can do as such (the best I can offer to shutting down your account would be removing the rest of your comments/etc and putting your account on "suspension" (ban)) \

(I try to do the best I can to keep up with spammers and all the other crap, but I'm only available for a few hours each day)
All I can say is brilliant job by, and thanks to, all parties involved here. Custo is an awesome site and i hate seeing it messed up by these awful spammers. Customizers are now forced to dissable commenting to stop their work being spammed. Here's the latest one: jorerc56
I agree fully. Our efforts haven't gone unnoticed though, I've seen notably less spam around of late (thanks rush) and i think if all new posts have comments disabled then surely the spammers will lose interest and leave. Special thanks to rush and canuckken for all the help keeping the site clean.
also could we suggest adding a capcha to commenting, just once off when you sign in or write your first comment. I think people are creating accounts and thereafter letting bots run rampage.

Essentially, we are able to use another tool to find all of the spammers for the day, then we do a blanket delete of all spam they've posted, then a issue permanent site ban.
Perhaps but I for one have been diligent to remove it withing hours. Sometimes I can catch it right away. I know there still needs to be a better solution for the spam problem but there is active moderation.
