litestep custom popup?

Hi, I'm running litestep 0.25.0 on Windows 7 x64, and I'm trying to figure out a workaround for not having volume control via the keyboard. So far, I have two nircmd shortcuts that adjust the volume. I can click these 2 shortcuts I have in my desktop folder and it increases or decreases my volume, respectively.
What I want to know, is if it is possible to create a custom popup or box on my desktop as part of my litestep theme where I can have 2 icons - one for each of the shortcuts I have. I don't have much experience programming the .rc files, so I don't want to try writing some random code and screwing my whole theme up. Any suggestions?

You can add a volume slider using lsslider (?) and xlabel. Download the AMANA LS and take a look at the code for examples of implementation.

You can also just make a new lable and have OnClick set to !execute "the path to your shortcut here" (without quotes)
