slider volume

Hey everyone...Hope you all can help. I have a theme i created and I wanted to put a volume slider on the taskbar. Well i did, but its not functioning. My handle doesn't even show up to control the volume just the slider track actually. I'm using umslider 1.7.1 as my module. Please guys help me out, this couldnt be too hard to do...I've tried looking around everywhere, even tried lsslider, but its too hard for me to figure out plus you gotta have bangs and all....Help
