None of my themes are working

Well i just started skinning. My roommate recommended a site he uses, customize.org. Well I found out i had to download UXTheme multi-pathcer in order to use the themes. so i did. and this is where it gets weird. when i installed UXT during the installation it changed my theme back to windows classic. i restarted my computer when prompted. And downloaded some cool lookin themes and attempted to load one of them. well the display properties windows appears with the tab appearances already selected. well none of my themes work....plz help me
