A lot of people asked me how i did custom avatars in Miranda (clients like Pidgin or Adium have an option for this). Like here:

It's actually quite easy. Miranda saves avatars in folders named after the protocols you use, like 'ICQ' or 'MSN', those are in the main Miranda directory. Just replace the avatars there. I have no clue how the naming works, so if a person has no avatar, just ask him/her to temporarily set it so get one for that person.

If I'm not mistaken you can set avatars by clicking on the user details, choosing an image and then selecting protect the picture. That way it doesn't update it when the user changes theirs. This is what works for me anyways so....
