XP theme downloaded here cannot be applied??

I had downloaded a XP theme, but cannot be applied. I extracted the file, and double-clicked the msstyles file (the icon), mine is called windows visual style, but my display properties (appearance tab) did not show the downloaded XP theme. It only show Windows XP style (blue default), but this is not what I downloaded. Why this happen?

make a folder with the exact same name as the .msstyles file within your resources/themes folder and stick the .msstyles files in there.

for some reason, this is the only way i can properly install themes on my machine most times.
