I think you're taking this too seriously. Its not like they were "omg its a rip, go to hell and fuck your mother." I think the way they pointed it out was rather polite. And notice how there's no brash replies after you proved your permission sources.
First of all, I've made it clear, a number of times, that I dont appreciate stupid comments like that. If you have something to ask me, ask it in person thru the form of a message, something this site very conveniently provides for its users.
Second, I have no need to effin have to any answering to do to anybody, as was asked of me. Who died and made Bernadinho, qslig and others like them the police? Last I checked, nobody!

If I remember correctly, before he decided to delete and resubmit his ripped winamp skin, a lot of people came and ruined his page with comments about the ripping, hence the deleting and resubitting. Yet the stupid turd has the effin temerity to come ruin my page with a comment like that. Yes, jackass was very very gracious.

Tied to the first point, I just wanna add, especially on a site like this, where you cant see when people comment on a sub, if I hadnt gone back to the page to download it for another PC, I would never have seen the stupid comment, and prolly never replied, thus people would continue to doubt the validity of said submission. Just because he never included that he had permission in the Artist's note it doesn't mean that you can assume something and then ask for an explanation. If you had looked closely you would have seen differences in the two pieces of work!
I hate all this detective stuff too...it's not about who made it and how much credit they get....it's just about making stuff available to people to use (out of good will). Because you want people to have a wider range of customization options!
I honestly think that the idea of loves and likes should be scrapped, we should stick to plain old comments. This would reduce any temptation to cheat (from my experience), and make customize.org a better, less-competitive website community.
raoul. Always include permission notes, saves you trouble and it's fair to the original author. And although you got permission from Flohri, you should also have gotten it from yorickm as the original author.

when i first saw the skin, i thought the similarities that were noticed/mentioned resulted from the simplicity of the graphics. after all, there aren't many ways to represent the functions of toolbar buttons, and doing so with pixel graphics will almost surely produce similar results.

Place a crinkled length of aluminum foil in the slow cooker/Crock Pot so the ends extend an inch or so out of the pot. Place the meatloaf in the pot (the foil will make it easier ro lift the meatloaf out and keep it out of the drippings).
Combine remaining soup, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, the water, mustard, and brown sugar. Whisk together and pour over the meat loaf. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Serves 4 to 6.

Okay, it's time for me to step into this one. Which isn't a good thing cause rarely do I come into these unless it's a big fucking deal but this is just fucking idiotic.
When you don't put your permissions in the author notes, people will assume you're trying to pass it off as your own work. End of story, that's why the author notes exist. Not that it's right for people to automatically say you ripped it, but they have the right to question the validity of your submission since there's nothing there to tell them otherwise.
You, coming into the forums and throwing a bitch fit doesn't help your case either. It makes you look like a fool, you're sitting here getting pissed off over something you apparently didn't rip. It's like a man getting all defensive and angry when someone says they're gay, like they're hiding something.
Also, what I don't understand is how you expect people to have sympathy for you when you're going around and insulting people. I do understand where your anger stems from but quite frankly, the way you handled it makes me not care in the slightest.
The "police" need to be here. You know what they really are? They're members of the community who respect the integrity of the site by making sure rules are followed. Without them, we'd be flooded with a bunch of people who sit there and flood the site with rips of other peoples work. This would allow them to take credit for work not done by them, killing all the efforts the original author put into it.
The reason things get blown out of proportion somtimes is because of users like ADZ (finch) who abuse the community. Without these "police," people like him would be sitting here submitting, taking credit for other peoples work. With that in mind, having him on your side is like having a girlfriend everyone hates and won't hang out with you because she's a total bitch.
