I've created a very animated Litestep theme, and I want to post a screenshot soon, and attach a snippet video of my desktop in action. I tried to use Wink, but with bad results. It didn't show any of my Litestep animations, and it rendered my mouse movements very coarsely. Can anyone help me out, or suggest a different application? I want to post the stuff soon :P Maks

Maybe this is something good
I had a really great one, but i sadly enough forgot its name. LOL btw, in the Litestep theme i did for my peekaboo setup i made the audio controls animated too, they have a certain width, but when the title is too long they animatedly expand. I actually anted to record that too, but i forgot.

bleh no good
didnt work for some reason I found some other program online also and it had the same problem, my litestep stuff didnt show up in the render, like not even my popup
05:45 pm ( 9 years ago)
Wouldn't it just be easier to just release the theme so we can see the animation first hand? :P Can't wait to try it out.
06:41 pm ( 9 years ago)
well indeed i will
but its sort of in a 'beta' state if you will im just eager to show people what I have so far, ya know? lol i got a decent render from 'camstudio'
06:51 pm ( 9 years ago)
Maybe you can find a quick trial version of SnagIt? I got the program, haven't tried the video feature yet , but I'll give it a go in a bit.

I just tried SnagIt, good suggestion, it's a nice program.
But it had the same problem as in the other ones, Litestep stuff didn't show up in the render. camstudio worked though, and is free. Not as nice rendering as SnagIt does but what can you do, will have to do I suppose

Hehe, awwwww, thanks. :D

This was the program i used
01:25 am ( 9 years ago)
Oh my goodness
That program, and using the CamStudio codec for compression, the result was awsome..... awsome awsome awsome Hopefully I finish it up tomorrow or after tomorrow
01:57 am ( 9 years ago)
Yeah, it's a great piece of software, it records everything.
Here's an example
05:47 am ( 9 years ago)
how did you get it to detect if the text was too long + by how much it was too long?
10:32 am ( 9 years ago)
You don't have to just set the label to AutoAnimate, a direction and a minwidth.
12:02 pm ( 9 years ago)
OMG naalo! that looked awsome! mind sending me an e-mail? ;)
12:04 pm ( 9 years ago)
ohk doh :D
im using autosize for a couple of things duno why I didn't realize it will do that for text on a label :P
04:21 pm ( 9 years ago)
I want to post a little snippet of what I have so far, its just a couple of the animations in my theme, but I don't have any webspace, anyone can host it for me pretty please?
05:45 pm ( 9 years ago)
How little is it? If it's not to big I'll host it for ya just email it to me.
07:47 pm ( 9 years ago)
150 mb :O is that big? imma email it now
08:18 pm ( 9 years ago)
i think its too big to email even at 26 mb
08:27 pm ( 9 years ago)
Erm. Well, maybe somewhere to upload the file.
-- 100MB limit. -- 500MB limit. -- 100MB limit. -- 300MB limit. -- 300MB limit. I think some of them only will send it to multiple people's email addresses. But if you cut it down to 100 you can definitely use the link method.
08:52 pm ( 9 years ago)
ah yea! iforgot about those ;D
08:54 pm ( 9 years ago)
alright here is a video showing just a couple animations
09:21 pm ( 9 years ago)
I don't know why, but I can only view that site in IE. And the download won't work, when I get to the dialog the open and save buttons don't work. GRRR.
10:05 pm ( 9 years ago)
A-ha, open in IE, copy shortcut, download in Firefox. And I like that one, there isn't a 45 second wait.
Very awesome, nice animation. And I especially like the talk bubble idea.
10:49 pm ( 9 years ago)
cool, i did also animated taskbar that pops up and moves like a spring, quick tho, and the tray, slides in fast at first and then slows down.
i dont really have any ideas tho what else to animate, maybe ill visit some flash websites or something for some ideas, but anyway i duno what i'd appply the idea to but we'll see maybe ill add a amp player as pep has

http://logmein.com/ just an idea I've been using this to remote control my desk from the office...it's pretty cool you can invite guests to view your desk while you work at it...so we could like broadcast our desks life oh and yeah...nice animation ..both! gotta play around with LS to get some animations build in myself
01:51 am ( 9 years ago)
That's a pretty cool link Mad, also a good idea.
01:57 am ( 9 years ago)
I'm not sure I understand the idea you are proposing >_<
im happy u like the animations, i purposely didnt show all the ones i have so far though so that i have more to show when i post the ss :D crafty huH? :D
02:34 am ( 9 years ago)
Downloading now :D Will post comments a lil later
02:49 am ( 9 years ago)
you can invite guests to view your desk while you work at it...so we could like broadcast our desks life He's proposing that you show us your desktop with the use of that site, and apparently we could see it while you're doing stuff on your computer. And that is indeed crafty, also good to keep some surprise to it.

Very interesting Maksim!
The system stats animations are really neat and make a simple concept more appealing. The command box is even greater, just one question though. Is it using xLabel and if so does that having as much launching power as lsxcommand?
04:56 am ( 9 years ago)
Wow. that looked truely awsome SunMoonStar. Relase it please :-D
05:12 am ( 9 years ago)
at first I tried to just do reposition of lsx but it is not as smooth, or should I say, doesnt do it as well as label. so I made label animations, and then the lsx unhides (has same dimensions as the label behind it), visually the only thing is seen when it unhides is that the text is displayed. i used lslua for the scripts but mzscript can be used.
Thomax, I am planning on releasing it, I have to clean up some code and add options for the user
09:08 am ( 9 years ago)
ding dang, y'all! Those are some sweet animations. Its amazing what you can do with with a label move and/or resize.
10:37 pm ( 9 years ago)
thats pretty cool guys, i cant wait to see more of this stuff and hopefully a release :)
but for the meantime can you explain how you achieved these animations or give me some documentation? i haven't tried making a theme since xpaintclass came out and this makes me want to start theming again. wouldnt mind having a few animations with it as well
05:44 pm ( 9 years ago)
Check out this one
It's the gehrunnerjunge 2.0 from this setup ported to Litestep and animated. Sorry about the framerate (the animations are slower in realtime), but i had to keep the filesize down.
06:36 am ( 9 years ago)
downloading :D. will give it a comment when i have watched it
06:37 am ( 9 years ago)
finally it's drag-able :D, pretty nice animation :)
06:50 am ( 9 years ago)
:o both of yours are so great. Cant wait for both to be realease. My keyboard is malfunctioning cause I was drooling seeing them :P
04:57 am ( 9 years ago)
Out put it to a TV and tape it. >XD
Actually, that could work as I have TV input or some of you may have DVRs. I'll have to remember this trick and that software you mentioned sometime. It would be nice to use to take some of the mystery out of modding.
