I like it, in theory anyway. But it's still waaaaaaay too slow to be seriously considered. The lighting is super easy and looks great but the final render quality leaves a lot to be desired (noise).

I've tried it (beta 1.2) on a few test render. As you've said, it has great potential, but too heavy for non render-farm use. quality vs. speed as usual :)
The spectrum approach on lighting is a refreshing take on 3d rendering, but a minor knowledge on light physics (light temperatures, levels, photography, etc) is definitely required for advanced use. (Or maybe I just rely too much on my eyes)
Maxwell is a good rendering solution, but I still prefer the fast Vray :P
