I think he means "instead of icons, I would like a right-click menu containing all my favorite programs and files". It would be shell replacement-esque. I'd look through the site and in the Help section for info on totally revamped desktops.

I used to have a desktop where I removed all the icons, and hid the taskbar. I only used RightClick to access pretty much everything I needed.

you can also do this in explorer

pretty easy to do, this will also teach you how to mod most parts of your context menu.

Or if you want some thing really fast and instant to use with Explorer you can use GriGri's extension or ShortPopUp.

I use bblean, disable bbleanskin and remove everything from the bar but the system tray, set the bar to autohide then have a blast with samurize.

Am I correct in assuming that bblean (when running unnecessary plugins) is more lightweight than Litestep?

Pyro_ says:

Well if you only use the bbtray plugin, and nothing else. Of course it'd be more lightweight then Litestep.

Either way you're using virtually one plugin.

cause samurize eats up my ram like crazy and so does LS so i end up with this hybrid thing in the end, which is purty...

bblean is using 4 megs of ram here with 12 plugins running, but you can use bbmemlimiter to keep it below that.

I seem to remember litestep's mem usage comparable to explorer's at around 15 to 20 megs. And that was with just a taskbar and menu.

oop, bblean is just as valid.

I just said ls because when I think of pop up menus, that's the first thing I blurt out.
