I'm looking for some easy way to put some buttons to control winamp in my taskbar so I can just minimize it and have only the buttons in the taskbar. I've tried two little program things to do that but they both suck, mainly because the buttons are so ugly looking. so does anyone know of a nice way to get a previous track, play, pause, stop, and next track button in my taskbar in such a way that it'll look very nice with the area04 theme?

If you're up for doing some extra work (i.e., not just your typical "install program & change skin" route), you can use Samurize. You can make a small taskbar-sized Samurize config with winamp controls and use it as a taskbar toolbar.
there's a way to just add a folder to the taskbar That has the buttons as icons, which are quicklaunched to something that will stop / pause / play, etc. i just can't remember what those somethings are.
I don't know bout putting them in taskbar, but I mainly browse the internet while listening to music so I just use FF's Foxytunes extension and put those controls on the FF browser.
Akka's on the right track, you can make a folder on the quick launch and make 5 shortcuts to Command Line Winamp (http://membres.lycos.fr/clamp/) for each of the commands. Kind of a quick hack but it'll work :)
Scooby's suggestion of True Launch Bar isn't free though, but if you can spare a few bucks for shareware, it can work well too.
I probably want that samurize thing. I tried fooling around with it before but had no success. is there somewhere where I could find a tutorial that would explain in very simple terms how to set up a shiny little winamp toolbar deal in my taskbar?
winamp comes bundled with tray tools, a plugin that does exactly what you want...but i suggest to get skins because the default icons arent really that pretty...
There is a winamp plugin as some have already suggested seen in this shot http://customize.org/screenshots/67594 but a method I use from time to time is using a skin that provide relatively large windowshade modes such as the cpro skins. You select the windowshade mode and set the skins to stay on top. Then you can place them on your taskbar. They will periodically disappear behind the taskbar but simply clicking the winamp icon on the taskbar will bring it back to the top.
