First blog. Second blog. Next journal, review forum. New monitors! New MacBook Pro with Core 2 Duo on the way!
One hour is gone. Second one is gone. I watch a short documentation about young people forced to play online for 12 hours on and on. I read articles saying "this is a really urgent and important update of this or that kind of hardware". Ahm... i wanted to buy that monitor two months ago and now itīs already something that needs to be updated so urgent?
No mouse. No monitor. No new submissions. Nothing creative. White wallpaper with regular, popular icons (even worse... icon packs). Thatīs my desktop. Nothing from me. I talked to a friend of mine some weeks ago. We talked about customizing, digital art and computers. I told her about my thoughts of selling the iBook and buying a MacBook instead. Iīve been working quite a long time to buy this wonderful looking notebook. And sold it for a new version because itīs so much faster and good enough for my creativity.
Now ... after 3 months of nothing new here i feel that there has to be an urgent update for my journal.
In the past 4 months i learned that it is not about the hardware you own. Not about the speed of your graphics card or your contrast ratio. Itīs still about your creativity how far you will get and how you will perfect your techniques. And we all have this wonderful gem.
I will go back to Windows with an older system and get back to my environment that i am used to. Not go blank on white canvas with some purple or orange pigments.

Bingo.
People get too focused on the toys.
I see great work all the time from people who come from poorer areas of the world, working with pentium 3 era hardware.
My upgrade cycles are now much longer, it's a waste of time and money. I'd much rather focus myself on the experience rather than fretting about being "up to date".
You said it man, I've been getting by just fine on hand-me-downs. :P It's nice to see you back, I'm starting to miss customizing Windows more and more and more...

If you get a MacBook Pro with a Core 2 (When they actually release it.) or just get the Core Duo. Why not just use Parallels/BootCamp and run Windows XP/Vista side by side/dualboot with Mac OS X? wouldn't that be easier...?
Ahhhh, sorry for that then Imrik. There still is no official word though. I personally think Apple might just dump the Core 2 Duo and use the Core 2 Quadro (Which is being released this week)
Can't wait until next year. Intel will be releasing the 8 core CPU. Will be nice.
I myself find that slow systems aren't that great for heavy duty graphics. (Expecially of the high res, high definition kind.) Which is why I am contstantly upgrading my setups.
I've been on the same Classic+Tango setup since MAY. I tried opening Photoshop and making something new but I ended up hating it. I modded Mire a bit but it didn't help, haha. Hopefully we'll all come up with something eventually.
it helps to brainstorm with two brains or more :D if no ideas still won't pop, at least you still got a good conversation, or chatting... or a gaming session :P
I recently had the opportunity to work with some design students and I'll go so far as to say today we rely too much on our tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver) and not our own imaginations.
I'm thinking widget making time. Konfab... I mean Yahoo! Desktop Widgets.
Well, I just got started on a suite (Mire v2) today. I'm makin my way through the WB - it's a complete remake of Mire. The only reason I'm naming it Mire v2 is because it's SOMEWHAT similar, and so I can get away with it. :D
