I figured that this might be a much faster way to find the info that I was looking for rather than looking through fifty thousand websites that have the word "tutorial" or "media" in their site discription......but apparently I can see that its not.

for starters, which media player do you intend to make a skin of?

I have windows Media Player 9, I'd like to learn how to build skins for that player.

So what I did, right, was I typed into google what I wanted (http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=skinning+wmp
&btnG=Search&meta=), and then the 4th link down gave me a tutorial over at DA that people seem enthusiastic about. I just wasted 27 seconds of my day and I want them back.

automotivefever, skinstudio pro allows you to create windows media player skins with precision and ease. It's not free but it's worth the price :) You can check winamp.com as well for tutorials on skinning winamp.
