so i've seen people use iShut in desktop screenshots, and my question lies in this: is there a way to inegrate it into windows by default? so when i click start>shutdown it opens ishut. if anyone could point me in the right direction to some tutorials or explanations that would be great, thanks!

You first have to remove the windows shutdown button, by reshacking the start menu. (use http://www.virtualplastic.net/wint/showtweak.php?tweak_id=8 )

Then you should be able to drag and drop an iShut shortcut onto your start menu.

This only works when you use the classic start menu though.
