Some people create the illusion of an UB3R thin caption bar by painting the bottom half white (or more than half if u want) and the top part black/grey etc. Some people however do actually make UB3R TH1N C4P7T10N5 and i'd like to know how aswell.
Itīs not that hard to do with StyleBuilder. Open up the visual style of choice. Make half of the caption bar transparent, export and save the new vs version.
look at my firefox window and my explorer window. the aim windows have a menu on the top with no text, hence why they appear to be the "illusion" of a thin caption bar. since then i have removed my menu on my message window.
Imrik: Ive tried that in the past and it doesnt work for me. I can only make the top 2-3 pixel rows transparent, anything furthur and it shows up as black on the VS. It looks thinner, but not UB3R thin like some other people's.

oO! so it's not REALLY smaller, it just SEEMS smaller :( awww I was hopin it was really like that. So lemme get this straight, if I maximize staticuxo's VS it'll show about 6 pixels worth of desktopness at the top? :(
yea, you can make them that small. but it doesnt seem functional (to me at least) without the caption text, took mine down to about 10px looks pretty sharp.. too bad you cant resize windows from the top ;\
** quick questions - how'd you get your task bar that short? the max i've gotten it to is about 5 pixels thicker than yours.. does it have to do with the icons?

Yeah it's not hard to get your titlebars that slim, but the only thing i ran into is that it screwed up my 16pix icons. This doesn't mather for the titlebar icons as i have them reshacked out anyway, but it happened with some other icons too (for example in a ls tray box like in Tokidoki). Has anyone had this same problem?

Thx static. Ravers anthem to remove the icons u need to use blank icons (i.e completely transparent). For folders its easy just give them blank icons however for applications you'll need to reshack.
